Should You Buy A Home Or Condo

Are you a first time home buyer looking to get established in the Stockton California real estate market? Well, there is some good news; Stockton is considered to be one of the best deals when it comes to real estate in cities of its size in the entire country. There are a wide range of homes available for purchase, and possible properties include both condos and houses. How are you supposed to make up your mind? Well, let's take a look at some common factors used in a decision, whether we are talking about Brampton houses or Stockton condos.

Convenience

Often, people who are more interested in a convenient style of living will opt to live in condominium units when they are available. It has been the main selling factor in Bay Street condos all over the continent, and it's an important one in Stockton as well.

Condo convenience comes in many different forms. First of all, there is the lack of maintenance needed as far as the outside of one's property. An elderly owner of a Scarborough condo said that she finds home ownership much easier in her new unit because she does not have to worry about tidying her lawn, maintaining multiple flower beds, and so on. In other words, condos are perfect for people who don't have the time or energy to do multiple yard chores.

Condominiums are also convenient in that they offer quick access to all the amenities of a city's downtown core. Residents spend a lot less time and money on the commute and as a result have more personal time as well. Many Stockton units, just like Mississauga condominiums, offer a full range of amenities to owners. These can include everything from banquet facilities to exercise areas, and decrease the amount of travel times to various locations still further.

Cost

Usually when we are talking condos versus homes condos come out looking better in terms of price, particularly in larger cities. A Toronto condo, for example, would be substantially more affordable than a detached home in the city.

However, this is not the case in the city of Stockton. The real estate crash affected home prices in the city tremendously, and as a result single family dwellings in the suburbs are just as affordable as condo units in the downtown areas.

That brings us to the issue of condos or homes in the specific area of Stockton. The city has proven to be the reverse of many areas with substantial populations in that the suburbs are actually less safe, in many cases, than the downtown areas. The low price of single family homes in the suburbs of Stockton have led to many low reported income earners taking up residence, while the high number of foreclosures has resulted in an number of squatters which is almost as high.

As a result, a condo in the downtown area of Stockton may well be safer than a detached home in the surrounding neighborhoods!

Whatever your preference or needs, remember that the best way to go about buying your first Stockton home is to talk to a qualified real estate agent first. They can give you the heads up on any issue you need information about.
